ICT as Co-constructive tool
Co-constructive
tool are applications that support the construction of knowledge through a
shared understanding, collaboratively sharing or combining ideas. It emphasizes on collaboration and
partnership working. It includes process such as cooperation and coordination.
My tutor
taught us about what is meant by co constructive tool and the different tools
of co-construction. The co constructive tools are Google docs, electronic
white board, blogs and wikis, discussion forum on portals (pce.edu.bt). From the
many tools, we were taught about creating Google docs https://docs.google.com/document/u/0/. In here, we were taught about how we can comment and edit each
other’s work. To make wise use of the Google docs, we were divided into groups
and we were asked to pick a topic from any of the lesson and discuss in the Google
docs. We discussed about what topic we shall choose. We invited our members and
the tutor to comment on each other’s thoughts. Our tutor gave us feedback on the lesson we were discussing about. We were also taught how to create
and use blog. To make use of the blog, we were asked to write and update our blog based on each of the five tools in the ICT.

Having gone through these tools and applying it, I realized that co-constructive tool provides a platform to interact and share the thoughts and understanding. It provides opportunities to co-edit each other’s work and thereby enhances collaborative learning environment. It does not require the physical presence of the members. Members can work from anywhere, anytime and this in a way saves time. I also realized that co-constructive tool promotes diverse view point of the members as they comment and edit the work.
