My learning experience on working with Camtasia software.
Camtasia studio is a software created and published by TechSmith, for creating video tutorials and presentations directly via screencast, or via a direct recording plug-in to Micro soft power point. To make effective use of the Camtasia software, we were asked to prepare a video tutorial using Camtasia studio which was a part assignment. The topics for the tutorial was given by the tutor. I got a reader titled 'At the market' for grade one. The tutorial should be
ten minutes long. Before proceeding with the tutorial, our tutor uploaded few samples and tutorial on how to record and edit the video with Camtasia. Further, I have also explored and looked into tutorials on recording screen with Camtasia studio.
Using camtasia to make the tutorial was quite challenging for me initially but gradually, as I explored and went through the tutorials uploaded by my tutor, I got familiar with the software and I could finally come up with one. I knew how to record power point screen, how to import media, and how to cut out mistakes. I must say it was a very experiential learning. Use of such tools in schools not only helps the teacher but it also helps students on a larger scale. Students get to access it any time. They also get to learn on individual pace unlike in real classroom. It also provides a great opportunity for self study. Moreover, it substitutes both teacher and student's presence. It is very helpful during nation pandemic like the situation the nation is facing at the moment. Hence, owing to these advantages, it is crucial that as a teacher, we must have good knowledge over it and I must say we had a good experience which for sure would be implemented later in the field.
